Patent Litigation Emerges from Pandemic Slumber

In its latest findings Aon reports that patent litigation cases are on the uptick again in 2021 after a steady decline from 2015 to 2019. 2020 rebounded off the 2019 ten-year lows and we saw a 2% uptick in 2021 over 2020.
Aon notes there has not been a two-year increase since 2013. The market is flush with both litigation financing options and high profile patent cases so all indications are litigation is back on on pace to grow again here in 2022.
